Why Hilton Garden Inn and San Diego?
First, Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) was ranked number one again by J.D. Powers (2009) for midscale full-service hotels.
Second, San Diego has often been voted the number one destination in the world and here is why: attractions, arts, beaches, climate, gaming including the Del Mar Racetrack, sports, restaurants, retail shops, wineries and more. San Diego is built for a phenomenal year around experience.
HGI is built on the principle of 5 pillars:
-Deep Sleep
-Eat Well
-Stay Fit
-Work Smart
-Treat Yourself
The Garden Sleep System (GSS) bed is an incredible bed that allows you to select your mattress firmness as well as allowing you to have a sheath of lambskin between the sheets to remove moisture from your body; the result: a great night’s sleep.
The “eat well” mindset was not lost on us at the HGI San Diego/Del Mar when we designed both Bistro 39, a modestly priced but fantastic restaurant and the NY Garden Deli & Cafe, a quaint deli and cafe that serves Boar’s Head meats and Peet’s Coffees and Teas.
Want to stay fit? Our General Manager, Bob Rauch, will design a workout and/or run for you (he’ll go with you if you like). You also may workout in the 24-hour fitness center or take a coastal run or bike ride. Prefer your room? A “stay-fit” kit will be delivered to your room. The kit includes an 8 lb. medicine ball with a guide to ab exercises, an elastic resistance cord, a yoga mat and blocks, a pilates band with an exercise guide, and hand weights.
Like to have light and a comfortable chair in your room? An incredible Herman Miller ergonomic chair awaits you and the desk lamp actually projects light, a very unique occurrence in a hotel room!
Want to treat yourself? We have Serenity Spa and Salon on-site as well as a great bar and the Pavilion Pantry. Try a wine flight or a great selection of beers, wines or liquors at our new Bistro 39 restaurant. Or, indulge in our deli’s desserts and real New York style pastrami sandwiches!
According to PhoCusWright Inc.’s 2009 Consumer Travel Report, 80 percent of travelers used the Internet to shop for hotel rooms, airfare and other travel-related purchases in 2008. Of people who visit online travel agencies, 31 percent book a service with a supplier site, and 47 percent book with the online travel agency. That trend has remained fairly consistent for hotel companies, says Carroll Rheem, director of research for New York-based PhoCusWright.
What gets Internet users to stay with a site? “Deals, deals, deals,” Rheem says, and indeed, 31% of respondents say price is a factor in their hotel decision. Other key factors include hotel amenities (29 percent) and destination activities (25 percent). Based on those findings, Hilton Garden Inn, San Diego/ Del Mar, and Homewood Suites by Hilton, Del Mar fit the bill.
Need another reason to visit? The Hilton Garden Inn, San Diego/ Del Mar is hosting the Deal of the Year this Friday (August 7, 2009). For $25 you’ll enjoy a Wine and Chocolate Tasting, where you’ll sample five gourmet chocolates paired with five fine wines. Included in the evening, all guests will receive a $20 gift certificate to Serenity Spa and Salon.
