Napa Valley Wine Maker to Visit San Diego for Winemaker’s Dinner
Bistro Thirty Nine, the new restaurant at the Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Del Mar, will host the event.
SAN DIEGO, CA – The Hilton Garden Inn, San Diego Del Mar and the Andrew Lane Winery, of Napa Valley are coming together to present The Winemaker’s Dinner, Saturday, March 14, 2009. The event will feature Drew Dickson, CEO and wine maker at Andrew Lane Wines, and Larry Difolco, Executive Chef at the Hilton Garden Inn’s new Bistro Thirty Nine Restaurant. They will pair five fine wines, grown and created in Napa Valley, with a five course meal to celebrate the grand opening of Bistro Thirty Nine.
“This is a great opportunity for locals and guests to meet a prestigious winemaker and an amazing chef, to learn more about wine, and eat some great food that has been paired specifically with these handpicked, excellent wines,” said Robert Rauch, General Manager at the Hilton Garden Inn. “It will be lots of fun at an amazing price.”
“The Garden Inn concept now being showcased by the Hilton Empire seems pretty solid, and Bistro 39 chef Larry Difolco, and General Manager Robert Rauch do a bang up job bringing the farm to market for the Del Mar community and it’s visitors,” said Drew Dickson, CEO and winemaker of Andrew Lane Wines. “These are some fantastic pairings and at an unbeatable price.”
The dinner will feature the newly released Andrew Lane Petite Sirah, a red wine bursting with wild blackberry, raspberry, and plum. The honey and Old Bay Spices will pair well with a Garlic-rubbed Tri-Tip sandwich with grain mustard on a Toasted Ciabatta Roll.
Course two features the Andrew Lane 2005 St. Helena Merlot, a wine with a dark, briary fruit with a hint of anise. The Merlot will be paired with a Roasted Loin of Veal with a Merlot reduction sauce.
The third course pairs the Andrew Lane 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with Roasted Balsamic Chicken.
The Cabernet Sauvignon combines beguiling aromatics of cedar, smoke and blackberry with a fruit-forward velvety feel.
Course four combines the Andrew Lane 2005 Oakville Cabernet Franc with a Grilled Pizza topped with Goat Cheese and Roasted Peppers. The Cabernet Franc profiles the flavors of Black Mission Fig, Indian Spice, Wild Berry, Blueberry, Chocolate and toasty Vanilla.
It is a stunning blend of flavor and complexity while maintaining a strong sense of connection to the soil.
The grand finale pairs the Andrew Lane Port with Dark Chocolate Creme Brule for an absolutely heavenly experience.
The event begins at 6:30pm at Bistro Thirty Nine, located at 3939 Ocean Bluff Ave.
