A federal government shutdown would close all national parks and would likely have a negative impact on travel due to U.S. Customs and other federal agencies shutting down. San Diego relies on tourism, an industry that produced over $9 billion in economic impact last year alone. The impact would be felt throughout the county and state and a prolonged shutdown would have a serious impact on jobs and consumer spending.
